LIZ MALAGISI
INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN
More About Me
Hello from Denver, Colorado!

My name is Liz Malagisi, and I live near the beautiful Rocky Mountains with my husband and two dogs. I love living near the mountains, where I enjoy hiking, camping, and picturesque views.

My Story
My background is in information technology (IT), where I worked as a software developer, leader, and learning accelerator for many years.
I love that instructional design utilizes empirical evidence and theory, which feeds my analytical side. I am a results-oriented person who strives for proven measures of success in learning.
Although I enjoyed my work in software, my time as a people manager influenced me to pursue a psychology degree to enhance my understanding of human behavior. During this time, I became enamored with the possibility of combining my technology background and my psychology education to serve others.
This motivated me to create educational vignettes and videos. Still, I wasn't sure where to start, how to organize, or how to be sure the information I provided made a difference.

Then I found Instructional Design...
However, I'm also creative and love to engage with people. I have found that the many ways in which dynamic, creative, and imaginative learning can happen through proper instructional design help me to remain inspired and innovative in my work.
"When designing instruction, I feel authentic, and authenticity is the ultimate motivation for high performers."
A Little More About Me
My hobbies also include stained glass art and travel. I love to travel around the eastern U.S., searching for history. My sister, nieces, and I recently traveled to Boston, MA - where we found the Founding Fathers. This year, we are heading to Virgina, to see the Jamestown and Williamsburg colonies.

At home, I am very active in my local Toastmasters club, where I've won awards for public speaking.
